A respected civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their expanding team, supporting a growing pipeline of infrastructure projects in the Inverness area. The role is well-suited to candidates based locally in the Highlands, or those in the Aberdeen area open to regular travel to site. It also offers a great next step for experienced Site Engineers or Section Engineers seeking a fresh challenge with increased responsibility and exposure to diverse project types.

Our client is a long-established civil engineering and construction business with over four decades of industry expertise. Operating primarily across the northeast and Highland regions of Scotland, they are well-regarded for their high standards, collaborative approach, and commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainable practices. Their project portfolio spans residential, commercial, and industrial developments, with a strong focus on infrastructure, groundworks, and road construction.
What You\’ll Be Working On
This is a hands-on role offering involvement in a wide range of works including:
- Roads and earthworks
- Drainage systems
- Housing infrastructure
- Specialist developments, including work within the distillery sector
- Exposure to temporary works and lift planning
You ll be part of a close-knit engineering team, working collaboratively with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to maintain momentum and quality on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing and reviewing RAMS, Technical Queries, and other site documentation
- Attending and contributing to site meetings and progress reviews
- Conducting site inspections and monitoring works to ensure standards and specifications are met
- Proactively resolving engineering challenges and ensuring work progresses safely and efficiently
- Supporting commercial aspects of project delivery, helping maintain budgets and timelines
What re Looking For
- Proven experience in a civil engineering role, preferably within infrastructure or groundworks
- Strong working knowledge of site processes, temporary works, and relevant documentation
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A team-oriented mindset with a proactive and adaptable approach
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to project sites
