We are seeking a confident chef who is able to provide a high-quality catering service which supports the wellbeing of students and those who are providing care and supervision to them. This includes meeting school catering, health and safety standards, and taking into consideration healthy school standards.
Work in aindependent specialist school in Bolton dedicated to providing holistic education and support for children and young people aged 11 to 19 with special education needs and disabilities (SEND).
Many students have varying sensory preferences and requirements , especially when it comes to the taste, smell, sight, and feel of food. These sensory factors play a crucial role in how they perceive and enjoy their meals and so menus are co-designed; giving students a voice.
Requirements: – Catering Qualification equivalent to Level 1- Level 3 Food Safety or NVQ equivalent- GCSE Maths and English- Experience of menu planning & recording and managing stock in an industrial kitchen/catering establishment- Knowledge of legislative requirements for working in industrial cooking and in a school environment- Drivers license
Desirable – Experience working with young people- A passion to work with the teaching team and students by providing students with an experience of preparing and cooking food a wide range of foods from around the world as well as providing them with the skills for and preparation for independent living.
