About the Role: We're looking for a Chef to join the team at a busy healthcare environment in Kingston upon Thames, preparing meals for private patients. This is a great opportunity for a Chef who enjoys having a good level of independence but prefers a lower-volume, more relaxed kitchen environment rather than a high-pressure restaurant service. You'll primarily be responsible for preparing and finishing meals for private patients, with around 20 covers per service. The food is served mainly at lunchtime and during an evening service at approximately 5pm.
Your Responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking meals for private patients
- Following established recipes and menus
- Finishing and presenting food to a high standard
- Working within a bistro/café-style environment
- Managing your own section and working with a good level of autonomy
- Supporting the main kitchen with food preparation and service when required
- Assisting with the retail and patient dining areas during quieter periods
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
- Following all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Working effectively as part of the wider catering team
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working as a Chef
- Enhanced DBS required
- Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification required
- Experience working in a café, bistro, restaurant, healthcare or similar environment
- Ability to follow recipes and work independently
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A calm and positive approach to your work
This is a fairly low-volume and straightforward kitchen environment, making it ideal for someone who wants a role where they can work independently without the pressure of a busy restaurant service.
