Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join our team. This position will assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, survey research, boundary analysis, exhibit preparation, legal description preparation, and survey computations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, survey research, boundary analysis, exhibit preparation, legal description preparation, and survey computations.
- Process raw field data using Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D.
- Perform QA/QC checks.
- Coordinate and collaborate with field crews and office staff.
- Ensure division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed.
- Lead by example with good judgment, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, exhibit and legal description preparation, plat preparation, and field crew support.
- Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with design services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, growth environment.
Preferred Experience
- Associate Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- SIT or CST Certification or ability to become a Professional Surveyor.
- Experience with Wind, Solar, and Power Delivery projects.
- Experience coordinating with office personnel and field surveyors.
- Field experience in locating and recovering land survey monuments.
- Willingness to travel and work on project sites or at other Westwood offices.
- Experience with survey field equipment.
