We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to provide maternity cover. Leading a global sales team and driving front‑line sales activity, this role combines hands‑on sales leadership with strategic input. The role requires someone who can build and execute sales strategies, coach sales teams, and provide trusted commercial guidance to the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day leadership and line management of the global sales team
- Set clear priorities, targets, and direction for the team
- Conduct regular team calls and weekly 1:1s
- Oversee performance management, development plans, reviews, and commission structures
- Coach team members on live deals and support complex negotiations
- Act as a visible, motivating leader across the commercial function
- Front‑line sales activity – own an individual sales target and be responsible for generating new business opportunities across our suite of products
- Own pipeline management, lead review, and follow‑ups
- Support and participate in key sales calls, demos, and client meetings
- Provide deal support and challenge where needed
- Support renewal discussions and new business sales, particularly for high value opportunities
- Input into sales and marketing strategy, budgeting, and planning processes
- Work in collaboration with marketing to ensure alignment across sales campaigns and marketing campaigns
- Review and direct SAM lists and account priorities
- Deliver weekly sales reporting and contribute to board‑level reporting
- Provide direction on growth initiatives and sales campaigns
Stakeholder & Account Management
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and Business Unit heads, providing coaching and commercial guidance
- Support commercial partnership discussions
- Work closely with wider team to manage client queries and escalations, particularly across core products
Wider Organisational Contribution
- Act as a trusted commercial voice within the organisation
- Contribute to product development discussions and prioritisation
- Support cross‑functional alignment between sales, marketing, product, and leadership
- Work collaboratively with the Consulting team to help identify opportunities
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager leading a global or multi‑region sales team
- Strong track record in building and executing sales strategies
- Hands‑on experience managing pipelines, forecasting, and complex deals
- Excellent people leadership skills, with experience coaching and developing sales talent
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence at senior and board level
- Confident working cross‑functionally and ability to direct and influence stakeholders
- Ideal candidate will have experience in subscription sales within the Energy industry
Fixed‑term maternity cover (approx. 12 months). Hybrid working – expectation would be 3 days in the office and 2 remote. Full time, 35 hours per week, 9am - 5pm.
