We are a warm, caring, and person-centred 7-bedded residential home supporting young adults with profound learning disabilities and complex needs. We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers and Senior Support Workers to join our team and make a genuine difference in the lives of the young people we support.
Residential Support Worker - The Role
24-36 hours per week
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support tailored to the individual needs of each resident. You will help create a positive, supportive, and engaging home environment while promoting independence, wellbeing, communication, and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting young adults with daily living activities including personal care, meals, and mobility
- Building positive and trusting relationships with residents
- Encouraging participation in activities, education, and community outings
- Following individual care plans and behaviour support strategies
- Administering medication where required and following health and safety procedures
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
- Working closely with families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Promoting dignity, choice, respect, and safeguarding at all times
Senior Support Worker - The Role
24-36 hours per week
As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead by example and support the management team in delivering outstanding person-centred care. You will provide guidance and mentorship to support staff, oversee shifts, and ensure the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and coordinating shifts to ensure safe and effective service delivery
- Providing direct support to residents in line with their individual care plans
- Supporting, mentoring, and supervising Support Workers
- Assisting with staff inductions, training, and development
- Administering and auditing medication in accordance with policies and procedures
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and incident documentation
- Liaising with families, healthcare professionals, social workers, and external agencies
- Supporting with care plan reviews, risk assessments, and outcome monitoring
- Promoting positive behaviour support and safeguarding practices
- Deputising for management when required
What We Are Looking For - Support Worker
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to support individuals with complex needs
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Previous experience in care or support work (preferred but not essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and waking nights if required
What We Are Looking For - Senior Support Worker
- Previous experience working within a residential care or supported living environment
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to lead shifts and support a team effectively
- Medication administration experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential)
- Understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care, and positive behaviour support
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and waking nights if required
