We are a warm, caring, and person-centred 7 bedded residential home supporting young adults with profound learning disabilities and complex needs. We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team and make a genuine difference in the lives of the young people we support.
The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support tailored to the individual needs of each resident. You will help create a positive, supportive, and engaging home environment while promoting independence, wellbeing, communication, and social inclusion.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting young adults with daily living activities including personal care, meals, and mobility
- Building positive and trusting relationships with residents
- Encouraging participation in activities, education, and community outings
- Following individual care plans and behaviour support strategies
- Administering medication where required and following health and safety procedures
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
- Working closely with families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Promoting dignity, choice, respect, and safeguarding at all times
What We Are Looking For
We welcome applications from experienced support workers as well as individuals who are passionate about care and willing to learn. The ideal candidate will have:
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to support individuals with complex needs
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Previous experience in care or support work (preferred but not essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and waking nights if required
