About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the on-site deployment and delivery of our autonomous driving solutions at customer locations. You will serve as a critical bridge between headquarters and local operations, coordinating both internal and external resources to ensure high-quality, on-time project delivery. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in cross-cultural environments and excel at integrating diverse resources to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer & Local Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between customers and headquarters, building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, local authorities, regulators, and other stakeholders; Facilitate regular communication to keep both parties updated on project status, milestones, challenges, and requirements, ensuring transparency throughout the process; Work with customers to adapt autonomous driving technology to local regulations and operational norms, ensuring all deployments comply with local safety standards and operational requirements; Address on-site issues promptly, coordinate internal and external teams, and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Project Execution & HQ Coordination: Implement project plans as outlined by headquarters, ensuring all phases, timelines, and deliverables are met; Coordinate cross-functional teams locally and collaborate closely with HQ R&D and support departments to ensure seamless project execution; Monitor and report project progress, milestones, and KPIs to both customers and headquarters in a timely manner; Prepare regular status reports for internal and external stakeholders, and maintain comprehensive project documentation; Align local project execution with HQ's strategic goals, quality standards, and timeline requirements; Work closely with HQ teams for technical support, decision-making, and resource allocation.
- On-Site Team Collaboration & Local Adaptation: Oversee day-to-day operations of autonomous truck deployment at customer sites, including testing, maintenance, and data management; Coordinate local resources and logistics to support deployment activities; Act as a cultural liaison to ensure effective communication and mutual understanding between the Chinese team and local stakeholders, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives and expertise; Quickly adapt to the local culture and working practices of the project location, helping the delivery team minimize external distractions and stay focused on on-site productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field;
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in the automotive or autonomous vehicle sector;
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds;
- Ability to bridge cultural gaps, foster collaboration, and navigate cultural sensitivities;
- Excellent communication skills for conveying project updates, requirements, and challenges;
- Familiarity with local regulations and operational norms related to autonomous vehicles in regions is a plus;
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools;
- Flexibility to work across time zones and with cross-functional teams;
- Must be willing to work on-site at customer locations for project delivery;
- Able to adopt flexible working hours to accommodate different project phase requirements;
- Capable of coordinating internal resources (R&D, support teams) and external resources (customers, local vendors, etc.) to ensure final project delivery.
