The governors at Westways Primary are looking for a reliable, friendly and enthusiastic After School Club Cook to join our fantastic school community. The right candidate will help prepare and serve meals to our children who attend the After School Club.
You will prepare, cook, and serve a healthy, comforting late-afternoon snack or light meal for the children attending our after-school club. You will make sure that all dietary requirements and high standards of food hygiene are met while creating a warm, welcoming environment for the children.
We are looking for someone who:
- Plans menus, prepares foods and drinks and cooks various nutritious and appealing snacks or light meals.
- Manages kitchen operations safely, following strict Food Safety and Hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Ensures equipment is in proper working order, including checking temperatures.
- Undertakes stock checks and associated paperwork, manages food stock, orders supplies and controls waste efficiently.
- Caters for specific dietary needs, allergies and cultural requirements.
- Checks and puts away deliveries as required.
- Assists with clearing and cleaning the kitchen and dining area after service.
- Interacts positively with pupils and colleagues, demonstrating a patient and caring attitude, good time-management skills and a passion for making healthy food for our children attending our After School Club.
- Has previous experience working in a school kitchen, nursery or commercial catering environment.
- Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or a willingness to complete certification before starting).
- Has a sense of humour, combined with energy and enthusiasm.
