Our Torbay Young Parent\βs Service provides support for young parents (aged and their babies who are living in our supported accommodation. We are looking for a caring, trustworthy, creative person, who enjoys being busy, to join our team at our Torbay service on a permanent, part -time basis.
As a Support Worker you will be helping people to develop their parenting skills and prepare to move on into independent housing.
You will be providing one to one support and working collaboratively with the parents, alongside multi agency working with external agencies such as Children\βs Services, Housing and Health to build strong future foundations by supporting them with:
- Dealing with finances
- Home skills and parenting
- Taking care of themselves and their babies
- Developing confidence in parenting
- Building a strong supportive network and relationships.
The successful candidate will need experience and knowledge of using computer systems to maintain and update records on a daily basis, create support and risk plans and complete reports in an office-based environment. You will work as a team to deliver group sessions. The support worker will work their hours based at Torbay Young Parents working Monday (9.00am β 2.00pm), Tuesday (9.00am β 2.00pm), Wednesday (2.00pm β 6.00pm), Thursday (9.00am β 2.00pm). You will be required to work until 6pm on a Wednesday and there is an element of lone working with on call management support.
