Overview

Our Plymouth Parent\’s Accommodation and Support Service (PPAS) is an exciting and vital project, providing support and independent living skills to parents (aged 16+) and their children, who live in our supported accommodation.

We are looking for a caring and trustworthy person who enjoys being busy, to join our PPAS team. As a part‑time support worker, you will be helping parents develop independent living and parenting skills. We are looking for someone with a passion to bring their experience and transferable skills into our friendly team. This role will involve working evening shifts and some weekends until 9pm on a rota basis.

Responsibilities

By providing quality one‑to‑one support, you will work alongside parents and their children in Plymouth who are experiencing significant challenges, helping them to attain a better life by enabling and supporting them:

  • to be safe
  • to become sustainably housed
  • to develop positive parenting skills
  • to gain the life skills they need to achieve and maintain independent living
  • by promoting engagement and facilitating access to services that can further enhance their skill development

Westward is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to work closely in reporting any safeguarding concerns raised and attend multi‑Agency meetings with other professionals involved.
