Hours: 36 hours, 3-4 days over 7 depending on rota.

Overall Objectives: To ensure that all customers consistently receive care that is person-focused and promotes health and well-being. To lead by example in the delivery of support and care that promotes quality, respect, dignity, independence, and choice for every customer.

Additional Information: The post holder will be expected to work when required to cover for sickness and holidays. You will be required to work unsocial hours, weekends, and Bank Holidays as necessary to meet the needs of the service. The service operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service. Level of DBS disclosure required: Enhanced.

About The Role:

  • Delivering the Vision: Lead by example, ensuring all customers and employees are treated with equality, dignity, and respect, while fostering an environment where discrimination and harassment can be challenged.
  • Quality Management: Exhibit pride in your role and the organisation. Maintain a professional appearance according to uniform standards. Provide care as per individual care plans, adhering to the Quality Management System and instructions from the Care Manager. Support the cleanliness and general appearance of Hunslet Moor House. Uphold health and safety standards for yourself and customers, following Westward Care guidelines. Complete all paperwork accurately and within specified timeframes.
  • Being part of the Team: Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure quality care and smooth operations at Hunslet Moor House. Share knowledge and skills to enhance the customer experience. Engage in training and development to meet mandatory requirements.
  • Communication: Provide timely updates and feedback to the Care Manager in an agreed format. Employ various communication methods to meet customer needs and foster positive relationships. Maintain confidentiality when appropriate. Participate in team and individual meetings with the Line Manager.
  • Customer Service: Deliver care that promotes independence, dignity, and choice for customers. Encourage customer participation in social and leisure activities. Be proactive in addressing concerns from customers, employees, and visitors. Identify opportunities for improving customer service and suggest new offerings to the Care Manager. Create an excellent first impression for customers. Foster a customer-first ethos, treating internal customers with the same respect as external ones. Ensure a welcoming atmosphere for customers and visitors, handling inquiries professionally and courteously.

Required Criteria:

  • Has appropriate training/qualifications e.g. Care Certificate and Level 2 qualification in care.
  • Willing to undertake any training/qualifications required to support the Care Assistant role.
  • Has knowledge of electronic care planning systems and call systems within the home.
  • Has a working understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, DoLs, Infection Control, Safeguarding Vulnerable adults, and Data protection.
