Job Title
Housekeeping Assistant (1 x vacancy)
Hours & Shifts
30 hours per week, 5 days over 7. Shifts 8 am-2 pm / 1 pm-7 pm.

Housekeeper
Responsibilities
- Assist in housekeeping services to maintain high standard internal areas and laundry, reflecting the vision of a high-quality care facility.
- Support maintenance for events and marketing activities, ensuring visitors and prospective customers see the internal areas maintained to the required high standard.
- Carry out duties in a professional and friendly manner with minimal disruption to customers and the provision of care.
- Act as a role model, ensuring all customers and employees are treated with equality, dignity, and respect, and challenging discrimination and harassment.
- Promote a "right first time and on time" ethos for all aspects of housekeeping.
- Handle face-to-face enquiries efficiently and professionally.
- Demonstrate pride in the job and maintain a professional appearance in accordance with uniform standards.
- Keep the cleanliness and appearance of the facility while performing own tasks.
- Follow health and safety guidelines and ensure safety of self and customers.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and to the required standard within agreed timeframes.
- Work effectively with other team members, sharing skills and knowledge to enhance the customer experience.
- Participate in training and development to meet mandatory requirements.
- Use appropriate communication methods to meet customer needs and build positive relationships.
- Maintain confidentiality when required.
- Attend team meetings and individual meetings with the Line Manager.
- Seek ways to improve customer service and communicate ideas to the Housekeeper.
- Find opportunities to delight customers in creative ways, respecting individual preferences.
- Carry out housekeeping duties discreetly, minimizing intrusion into customer privacy.
- Proactively address issues identified by customers, employees, and visitors.
- Anticipate customer needs and put customers first.
- Treat internal customers with the same respect and understanding as external customers.
- Manage resources effectively to minimize waste and deliver high-standard service.
- Maintain stock levels, avoiding excess inventory.
- Communicate opportunities to improve efficiency as part of the team.
- Possess excellent knowledge of Westward Care services and facilities, promoting them when possible.
- Work when required to cover for sickness and holidays.
- Flexibility to work unsocial hours, weekends, and bank holidays as necessary.

Required Criteria
- Enhanced DBS disclosure.
- Previous experience working in a care home environment.
- Previous experience in housekeeping.
