The Wests Group Australia is a proudly Newcastle-owned and operated, not-for-profit organisation offering entertainment, accommodation, dining, events, and fitness facilities across our region. Community sits at the heart of everything we do, from delivering welcoming experiences to supporting local initiatives and sporting programs. We are always keen to hear from people who would like to be part of our team and support our members and guests across our diverse venues. With a wide range of locations and operations, we offer both casual and permanent opportunities to suit different skills and lifestyles.
Roles we regularly recruit for include:
- Bar and Gaming attendants
- Catering staff (bistro servers, kitchenhands and chefs)

Availability across nights, weekends, and public holidays is highly valued for operational roles. Bar and gaming positions are particularly important during peak periods and are often rostered from the evening through to the early hours of the morning. These roles require current certifications, such as RSA and RCG, where applicable. Certification requirements will be discussed with you during the interview process if you progress.
As part of The Wests Group recruitment and assessment process, all candidates progressing to the next stage will be required to complete relevant due diligence and probity checks specific to the role. This includes, but is not limited to, a Criminal History Check, reference checks, and right to work verification via our company portal. All associated checks and costs will be facilitated by The Wests Group.
Experience is valued, but it is not everything. We look for people who enjoy supporting others, are open to learning, and take pride in contributing to a positive team environment. You enjoy working alongside others and bring a genuine commitment to delivering welcoming service.
As a growing organisation, we offer stability, consistent shifts, and opportunities to move into permanent roles for the right people. We value the contribution of our team members and recognise their efforts through our Employee Appreciation program, regular acknowledgements, and occasional rewards. If you are looking to build a long-term career in hospitality, we support your growth through mentorship and development programs designed to help you progress into leadership roles or explore opportunities across the Group. For many of our team members, their first role with us is just the beginning.
