Wests Cardiff is seeking an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Premise Manager and working closely with department leaders and frontline teams, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the venue while ensuring exceptional service, compliance, team performance and customer experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in creating positive experiences for customers and team members alike.
As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading venue operations during your shift across bar, gaming and entertainment areas.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer concerns professionally.
- Supporting, coaching and developing team members to achieve high performance.
- Monitoring staffing levels and responding to operational requirements throughout the shift.
- Managing incidents and ensuring workplace health, safety and security procedures are followed.
- Conducting operational, gaming and venue compliance checks.
- Ensuring compliance with the Registered Clubs Act, Liquor Act, Gaming Machines Act and responsible gambling requirements.
- Overseeing cash handling, reconciliations and operational procedures.
- Coordinating shift handovers and communicating key operational updates.
- Supporting the delivery of promotions, events and member experiences.
This is a full-time opportunity requiring availability across a 7-day rotating roster (4-day work week & 3-week rotating roster). As a venue leadership position, shifts will include evenings, weekends and public holidays.

You understand the balance between delivering excellent service, maintaining compliance standards and achieving operational outcomes. You thrive in a busy club environment, remain calm under pressure and are comfortable making decisions, resolving customer concerns and supporting team members throughout your shift. You take pride in leading by example and fostering a positive team culture.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Assistant Duty Manager or Supervisor within a club, hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of gaming, liquor licensing and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Strong conflict resolution, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing gaming operations, cash handling procedures and venue operations.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety, responsible gambling and service excellence.
Certifications required: RSA, RCG, Tab Basics Certification, First Aid and preferably ARCG.
