Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:
- Taking responsibility for the shift and managing the warehouse operation whilst being an active hands-on member of the team.
- Operating handling equipment, reach, counter balance and narrow aisle order picker fork lift trucks (license required).
- To manage and lead the warehouse team and organise and delegate work in an effective and efficient manner.
- Point of contact out of hours for other manufacturing sites.
- Motivate your team to achieve the highest levels of productivity.
- To monitor time and attendance of the team and report on anomalies.
- Provide advice and guidance on issues to members of the warehouse team.
- To identify skills gaps and train employees on best practice techniques.
- To lead by example and be proactive and encourage others in the pursuit of continuous improvement projects and performance excellence.
- To complete all necessary administrative tasks (hard and soft) for the warehouse operation.
- The ability to ensure that housekeeping standards are being maintained and ensure a high standard of Health & Safety across the warehouse.
- To organise and take responsibility for operators on shift to ensure tasks are completed effectively on a daily basis.
- Complete daily communications and handover meetings with other Supervisors.
- Assist the management team in any projects or tasks as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
- Previous experience of leading a team.
- 2 years experience in warehouse and distribution environment.
- Hold a fork-lift truck licence, or prepared to be trained.
- Methodical with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Clear and concise communicator.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
