JOB PURPOSE: To produce printed self adhesive labels to quality and colour standards as agreed with each individual customer and to comply with ISO 9002 and PS 9000 standards. To work safely and comply with established safe systems of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • To comply with current systems of working including established shift patterns
  • To achieve daily/weekly production targets
  • To achieve established quality standards working within the guidelines outlined in the established quality systems complying with ISO9002 and PS 9000 quality standards
  • To flag, tag and resolve quality issues wherever possible and record and inform appropriate parties of issues and possible courses of action
  • To champion good housekeeping standards
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and accreditation standards ensuring existing technology is being optimised and used effectively to support the manufacture of good quality product
  • To Ensure appropriate records are maintained and reports compiled and complete all necessary recording of information i.e. VWT, SFDC etc
  • To make quality judgements taking into account individual customer quality requirements and make judgment calls on suspect cartons deciding to release for despatch or quarantine understanding commercial repercussions of any decision taken
  • Assist in all duties and activities within the department as need arises including waste management, and other tasks and activities within the department
  • To assist in other roles and other departments and functions as business need requires
  • To train in new systems of work as a result of customer specification changes or new ways of working in production and ensure adherence within production processes
  • Leading and providing feedback on routine internal audit inspections to ensure site adherence to the quality management system including environmental and health and safety activities
  • To support business improvement projects and associated administrative tasks and activities
  • Participate in continuous development and training
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives in production. Health and safety
  • To work in a safe manner adhering to laid down health and safety procedures.
  • To keep work area clean tidy ensuring that the highest standards of housekeeping are always maintained.
  • To report all accidents and dangerous occurrences to management Maintenance
  • To maintain all machinery and equipment in line with established planned maintenance programmes

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Relevant flexographic printer / press MPS12 colour experience in the printing and packaging industry
  • A good eye for colour and detail and the ability to examine printed material to a high quality standard including knowledge of Braille
  • Demonstrable experience of good teamworking & communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience of working to high quality standards
  • Demonstrable evidence of good housekeeping practices
  • Ability to take responsibility for output and quality of labels produced
  • Health and safety awareness
