The predicted salary is between 31500 - 38500 £ per year.

Permanent role from day one.

Salary is circa £32K – rising to £36K upon successful training (approx. Working hours Monday to Thursday 07:30am-4pm & Friday 07:30am-12:30pm).

28 days holiday including statutory.

Up to 10% pension (double of employee contributions 5% employee and 10% employer).

Overtime paid at single rate.

We are seeking a full-time Production Assembly Technician to join a manufacturing business based in Washington, Tyne and Wear. Our client is a circa £3M turnover business and they design & manufacture precision components used within various industries including Nuclear, Aerospace and Renewables sectors.

As a Production Assembly Technician, you will work within an Assembly Operation, be dexterous to work with small devices, be able to solder, assemble, deliver lab testing duties, calibrations and deliver basic equipment maintenance. You will also be able to read engineering drawings.

This is a full-time position to join the Washington, Tyne & Wear facility. Reporting to the Production Team Leader and Operations Director the role is to manufacture, assemble, and pack products in accordance with approved processes, process methods and quality standards and customer requirements in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring high quality in a cost-effective manner.

Additionally, to provide support to the Technical Department on calibrations, research and development testing, and carrying out investigations on failed and returned units.

  • Manufacture cables and probe assemblies to customer requirements and product specification using appropriate machinery/equipment/hand tools.
  • Inspection of own work during and on completion.
  • Laboratory testing as required in the manufacturing process.
  • Research and development testing for any product line as instructed by the responsible engineer.
  • Accurately complete production, quality, H&S and maintenance documentation.
  • General housekeeping duties.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Computer literate in MS Office package.
  • Ability to perform basic manufacturing and engineering activities.
  • Ability to solder, use of hand tools.
  • Ability to use and interpret results from electrical test equipment.
  • Understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Fork Lift Truck licence.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing operations and/or 5S.
  • Laser welding experience.
