THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with an international client who are a manufacturing business based in Washington. They are looking for a Health, Safety & Quality Co-ordinator to join their team. This role would suit an individual looking to learn, progress and develop within the H&S Quality environment.
THE ROLE (ALL TRAINABLE)
- Ensure that all inspection equipment is always calibrated to necessary standards.
- Ensure that quarantined parts are correctly controlled.
- Liaise with customers regarding quality related issues including rejections and improvement requests including customer visits where appropriate.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding quality related issues including rejections and improvement requests, including supplier development activities when appropriate.
- Communicate details of quality issues to other departments to ensure all parties have the relevant information to handle parts correctly.
- Assess quality requirements for new parts, assessing supplier capabilities and discussing with customers, including supplier assessments where appropriate.
- Compile documentation (PPAP, ISO etc.) to get approval from customers, based on submissions from suppliers.
- In conjunction with our client’s senior management and the lead Health and Safety Manager, ensure that all policies and procedures are in line with current legislation.
- In conjunction with senior management to promote occupational health and safety awareness; and monitor that safety related functions, including risk assessments and training, are being satisfactorily completed. Also share good practice across the Company on health and safety matters and disseminate information across the Company as appropriate.
- Undertake risk assessments for all activities identified with significant risks.
- To provide advice to managers and to ensure key staff are appointed to undertake Health and Safety functions e.g. First Aiders and Fire Marshals.
THE PERSON
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a multicultural team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic understanding of common IT systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with appropriate prioritization.
- Can reliably commute to Washington every day.
