THE BUSINESS
Our client is a leading European steel manufacturer, supplying premium products around the world. They take great pride in their history and heritage. Operating under the frameworks of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems, you will partner closely with colleagues across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial, Planning and the broader Technical team. You will also lead efforts in product development, quality improvement and problem-solving, playing a key role in continuous improvement initiatives across the mill.
THE ROLE
- Lead and manage all technical activity in your area of the Rod Mill.
- Drive process and product improvements to enhance quality, efficiency and customer value.
- Analyse operational and quality data to identify trends, diagnose issues and inform decisions.
- Support the resolution of quality concerns through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Design and execute product and process trials aligned with continuous improvement goals.
- Collaborate across functions to ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal quality standards.
THE PERSON
- A proven track record of product or process development in a quality-focused environment.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the business.
- Confidence in using data to support decisions, drive improvements, and communicate findings clearly.
- A proactive mindset, capable of challenging the status quo and leading positive change within the organisation.
- Metallurgic background would be hugely beneficial.
- Proven experience utilising quality systems.
- Manufacturing/Automotive background would also be hugely suitable.
