THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the upkeep and repair of a large estate in the Sunderland area. As a Facilities Manager you will be responsible for a range of premises including buildings, sheds, offices, assembly blocks, cabins and also road infrastructure. The role requires someone who is capable of managing multiple projects at one time, who is an effective planner/coordinator and someone who has held capital expenditure responsibility. This is a permanent position from day one.
THE ROLE
- Responsible for the upkeep and repair of various buildings and infrastructure found within a large land estate area
- Project management of various works simultaneously, effectively planning and executing projects
- Working to ensure projects run to schedule and responsible for the contract management within this sphere
- Delivery planning, organisation of works and overseeing the execution of proposed works
- Managing external 3rd party site contractors such as roofers, plumbers, commercial electricians, door specialists, etc.
- Utilising CDM regulations for building inspections and delivery works
- Responsible for overseeing civils work within activities centring around drainage, water/legionella, asbestos, etc.
- Responsible for the delivery of site electricity, gas supplies, fibre broadband and phone communication systems
- Overseeing maintenance activities based around site horticultural activities
- Completing RAMβs and safe systems of work
- Ordering consumables for site amenities
- Buying materials for desired works and raising purchase orders β working to deliver efficiencies within purchasing
- Managing a small team, directing operations, prioritising and progressing works
