The business:
Our client is a well-established and busy business based in Washington, operating a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment. Due to continued operational requirements, they are looking for a skilled Bendi & Counterbalance Forklift Driver to support the movement, storage and loading of stock across the site.
The Role:
As a Bendi & Counterbalance Forklift Driver, you will play an important role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the warehouse and yard. Your duties will include:
- Safely operating Bendi and counterbalance forklift trucks in line with site procedures and health & safety requirements.
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Moving, stacking and storing pallets and materials throughout the warehouse and yard.
- Picking and positioning stock accurately.
- Loading and unloading racking safely, ensuring goods are correctly positioned and secure.
- Completing daily pre-use forklift checks and reporting any defects immediately.
- Ensuring loads are secure and within the safe operating capacity of the forklift.
- Working safely around pedestrians, vehicles and other warehouse equipment.
- Supporting general warehouse duties, including picking, loading, unloading and stock movements.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
- Completing relevant paperwork, stock records and delivery documentation.
- Reporting damaged stock, equipment defects, hazards or accidents promptly.
- Working as part of a wider warehouse team to achieve productivity and accuracy targets.
- Following all company procedures relating to PPE, manual handling, traffic management and workplace safety.
The Person:
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Indate/ external Bendi forklift experience and certification.
- Indate/ external Valid Counterbalance forklift experience and certification.
- Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
- Proven experience safely operating forklifts in a busy working environment.
- Good understanding of warehouse health & safety procedures.
- Experience loading/unloading vehicles and moving palletised goods.
- Ability to safely load and work with warehouse racking.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when moving and positioning stock.
- A reliable and hardworking attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping.
