WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?

- £20 per hour or Salary £38,480 per annum depending on experience
- Monday to Thursday 8am – 4:30pm & Friday 8am – 11am (30 mins lunch plus 2 x 15 min breaks)

THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Plant Fitter who has experience maintaining and servicing cranes to work within a busy port-based setting in Tyne & Wear. You will work to repair various types of cranes such as hydraulic, mobile, dockside, gantry and rope crane, etc.
THE ROLE
- Working to maintain and repair various cranes found within the port setting such as hydraulic, rope and mobile, gantry and dockside cranes
- Installing, repairing and replacing damaged or defective parts
- Assisting with basic facilities upkeep of the site
- Dealing with deadlines, interruptions, and conflicting demands, ensuring that all work and documentation are completed within appropriate timeframes
- Taking corrective action to resolve any identified faults/issues
- Appropriately escalating matters to management when required
- Assisting colleagues to carry out scheduled services and repairs to plant equipment and infrastructure
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Adhering to port safety protocols, including confined space entry, working at heights, and hot work procedures
- Undertaking work independently. Willing to work with minimal supervision following set procedures
- Ensuring work is carried out accurately and in an organised and effective way
THE PERSON
- NVQ Level 3 in a suitable engineering related discipline
- Experienced working with cranes for example, hydraulic, mobile, dockside, gantry and rope crane, etc.
- Able to work outdoors in all the elements
- Experienced delivering Plant Fitting duties
- Experienced working with hydraulic systems and able to work with AC/DC motors
- Ability to undertake mechanical fitting and repairs of port infrastructure, machinery and equipment
- Ideally experience working within industrial, maritime, and/or port environments
- Driving license
