Shift Pattern:
This is a full-time position working up to 38 hours per week on a rota basis. The business operates 364 days per year between 6:00am and 11:00pm, therefore flexibility is required to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Due to continued growth and investment in their people, they are seeking an ambitious Retail Shift Manager to join their management team.
The Role:
As Retail Shift Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the management team and driving operational excellence across the site. You will be responsible for leading shifts, developing team performance, ensuring compliance, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment. You will also be responsible for overseeing site security and lock-up procedures when working evening shifts.
- Leading and motivating colleagues to deliver outstanding customer service
- Supporting the Site Manager and Assistant Manager with team development and performance management
- Managing daily operational activities to ensure the smooth running of the site
- Producing staffing rotas and attendance reports
- Supporting investigations and employee-related matters when required
- Assisting with stock reconciliation and store audit processes
- Monitoring cash handling procedures and supporting cash loss reconciliation
- Ensuring the business operates safely, legally, and in line with company procedures
- Contributing ideas and improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience
- Supporting local community initiatives and engagement activities
The Person:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a retail, convenience, hospitality, or similar customer-facing environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- A positive, proactive, and resilient approach to work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- A commercial mindset with a drive to support business growth and success
- Flexibility to work shifts between 6:00am and 11:00pm, including evenings and weekends
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous, although not essential
