THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Time Served Plater/Fabricator for our client based in the Teesside area. Our client is one of the world leading manufacturers of steel pipes for the energy and construction sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly formed organisation at the beginning of a huge investment programme that will transform the future outlook for the site and business.
The successful applicant will join a forward-looking business, committed to making a positive contribution to the energy transition, working on behalf of the major energy companies across the globe to deliver the most demanding of projects in a work environment where safety, collaboration and the continuous development of people is at the heart of everything they do.
THE ROLE
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical specifications, and fabrication blueprints.
- Measure, mark out, cut, shape, and assemble steel components to precise tolerances.
- Working to undertake plant repairs
- Working in conjunction with a qualified welder
- Operate fabrication machinery, including guillotines, rollers, band saws, drills, grinders, etc.
- Repair, modify, and refurbish heavy industrial plant, machinery, and structural steel components.
- Fabricate project builds and installations
- Fabricate walkways and access systems
- Meet production schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
- Use overhead cranes, forklifts, and lifting equipment
THE PERSON
- Time Served Plater or Time Served Fabricator
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Ability to work within a heavy engineering setting
- Able to deliver plate profiling, cutting, and forming
- Ability to use overhead cranes
- Ability to undertake heavy and light fabrications
- Able to work with various metals
