Westray Recruitment Group is pleased to be representing an established clean energy specialist committed to driving the UK's transition to renewable energy.
Working on behalf of housing associations, local authorities, commercial organisations, and private customers, our client delivers high-quality renewable energy installations designed to maximise energy generation and reduce carbon emissions. Due to rapid expansion within their installation division, they are currently recruiting dedicated installation teams across the UK.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Field Operations Manager and Electrical Qualified Supervisor, you will lead all electrical installation activities associated with domestic and commercial Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems. Working alongside a Solar Roofer and Labourer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Installing domestic and commercial Solar PV systems and commissioning Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Carrying out AC/DC electrical installation works, setting up solar inverters, and installing generation meters.
- Conducting inspection, testing, and certification in full accordance with BS7671 standards (Electrical Installation & Minor Works Certificates).
- Performing safe isolation procedures and complex electrical fault-finding.
- Ensuring strict compliance with MCS standards, manufacturer guidelines, and health and safety legislation.
- Supporting and guiding the wider installation team while maintaining accurate electronic documentation via mobile devices/tablets.
THE PERSON
Qualifications (Essential): NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, 18th Edition, 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent), recognised Solar PV qualification, ECS Gold Card, and a Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience: Proven track record in Solar PV installations, domestic and commercial electrical installation, and testing/inspection.
Key Skills: Strong knowledge of BS7671, MCS requirements, BESS, safe isolation, and working at height safety. Excellent fault-finding skills and comfortable using digital certification software
