THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Technician on a permanent contract. The role is based in Durham and centres on a 12-hour continental shift pattern. The shift pattern enables 1 week off per month within the rotation and you also work less weekends over the course of a calendar year compared to the traditional 4 on 4 off system. This provides a very healthy work life balance for the role. We are representing a truly world class manufacturer who are investing over Β£65M in their manufacturing site, adding the latest technologies and specialist production machinery to its armoury. This is a heavy plant setting, but it centres on producing products in high volume. The plant is fast paced. You must be open to working both indoors and outdoors with the elements.
THE ROLE
- Operating within a high-volume manufacturing facility
- Working to maintain plant site facilities
- Performing asset strip down and repair
- Working to maintain automated production lines
- Working in a shift team consisting of 3 people electrical / mechanical / lead
- Optimising manufacturing processes β improving efficiencies, reducing wastage, enhancing yield and reducing cost
- Fault finding and repairing large complex electrical equipment
- Working with PLC systems to perform fault finding and analysis
- Working to deliver planned and reactive maintenance
- Updating maintenance schedules and creating reports
THE PERSON
- Time served recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
- Educated to ONC / HNC equivalents β Electrically Biased Maintenance Technician
- Able to undertake fault finding and diagnostic work β proficient with the use of PLCβs
- Able to work with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, gears, pumps, valves, etc
- Able to effectively identify and resolve manufacturing issues
- Holding multi skilled capabilities including bench skills, basic fabrication and basic welding
- Proficient with IT
- Excellent communicator
- Able to abide by H&S
