Due to continued business growth, our client is looking to recruit a Floor Screeder to join their skilled installation team. Our client has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality flooring solutions across a range of residential, commercial and industrial projects. They pride themselves on exceptional workmanship, reliability and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.
The Role:
As a Floor Screeder, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality screeding installations across a variety of construction projects. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. Your duties will include:
- Preparing subfloors by cleaning, repairing and ensuring surfaces are ready for screeding.
- Measuring work areas and calculating material requirements.
- Mixing and applying sand and cement, flowing and self-levelling screeds.
- Installing bonded, unbonded, floating and fast-drying screed systems.
- Levelling and finishing screed surfaces to the required depth, tolerance and specification.
- Using laser levels, screed pumps, straightedges and other specialist tools.
- Installing damp-proof membranes (DPMs), insulation boards and underfloor heating systems where required.
- Following construction drawings, technical specifications and site instructions.
- Carrying out quality inspections to ensure finished work meets industry standards.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Inspecting and maintaining tools and equipment, reporting any defects.
- Working collaboratively with site managers, contractors and other trades to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
- Loading, unloading and safely handling materials and equipment.
- Complying with all health and safety procedures, company policies and risk assessments.
- Travelling to various customer sites as required.
The Person:
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working as a Floor Screeder would be beneficial; however, this is not essential.
- Experience with traditional sand and cement, flowing and self-levelling screeds.
- Knowledge of bonded, unbonded and floating screed systems.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- A strong understanding of construction site health and safety.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible approach with the willingness to travel to various sites.
- A full UK driving licence.
