Overview of the Administrator opportunity within a local charity in the North East. They are looking to recruit a proven Administrator to work closely with the charity's CEO, ensuring the smooth functionality of day-to-day operations. Prior experience within social work, governance support, or board-level administration would be extremely helpful. This role would suit a diligent and trustworthy administrator who wishes to make a real difference to people's lives.

The Business

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded domestic abuse charity dedicated to providing immediate support, long-term recovery services, and preventative education across South Tyneside and the wider North East. They are at a critical juncture of planned growth and service development, requiring a hands-on, execution-focused administrator to translate their strategic vision into operational reality.

The Role

  • Support the CEO and Board of Trustees with governance administration.
  • Work with the CEO and external communications support team to produce the quarterly newsletter.
  • Lead employment checks, onboarding/offboarding, and recruitment administration.
  • Maintain accurate organisational records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
  • Arrange meetings and maintain diaries, including finding available dates from all attendees, arranging venues, booking facilities/equipment, and refreshments.
  • Take telephone calls using company protocols and use initiative to resolve issues for callers.
  • Access to confidential information relating to clients, their families, and other stakeholders must be handled with strict confidentiality.
  • Respect the privacy, dignity, needs, and beliefs of clients and colleagues.

The Person

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in executive-level administration support
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Driving licence would be essential for this role
  • Experience with senior-level administration and/or HR processes
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
