Trade Assistant – Hydraulics Department

About the Role

As part of our Hydraulics Department, you’ll work closely with experienced tradespeople on a variety of tasks, including forklift operation, sandblasting, painting, equipment preparation, and light mechanical work. This is a fast‑paced, high‑performing workshop where safety, quality, and teamwork come first.

Roster:

  • 5 days on / 2 days off
  • 2 weeks dayshift / 2 weeks nightshift
  • 10 hour shifts

What You’ll Do

  • Safely move components using a forklift
  • Sandblast hydraulic components
  • Paint and shrink‑wrap parts to quality standards
  • Assist with maintenance and minor repairs of the sandblast unit
  • Clean, prepare, and operate moving components
  • Work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Promote and contribute to a strong safety culture

What You Bring

  • Previous experience as a Trade Assistant
  • Forklift licence (essential or willingness to obtain)
  • Dogging certification (highly regarded)
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Great communication and the ability to work well in a team
  • Experience using safety and risk assessment tools (e.g., JSAs, Take 5s)
