At WesTrac’s Component Rebuild Centre in South Guildford, you will develop specialist skills while rebuilding some of Australia’s largest Caterpillar powertrain components. Join a highly skilled team supporting the mining and construction industries, with opportunities across Final Drives Assembly, Transmissions & Powertrain Assembly, or Disassembly & Condition Assessment. Whether you are assembling components to Caterpillar specifications or identifying wear, faults and repair requirements, you will gain valuable hands-on experience and build sought-after technical expertise.

Location & Roster: South Guildford | Monday to Friday | 10-hour shifts Two weeks day shift: 6.00 am–4.30 pm Two weeks night shift: 4.00 pm–2.30 am, with 25% loading on all hours

What You’ll Do:

  • Disassemble, inspect, diagnose and rebuild Caterpillar transmissions, torque converters and final drives
  • Complete precision assembly to Caterpillar specifications
  • Measure and record component condition using specialised tooling and equipment
  • Complete quality checks, testing and accurate service documentation
  • Work safely and contribute to a supportive, high-performing workshop team

What You’ll Bring:

  • An Australian-recognised mechanical trade qualification
  • Experience in heavy diesel, automotive, truck, light vehicle, agricultural or mobile plant maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • The ability to follow technical instructions and procedures
  • A genuine commitment to safety and teamwork

Highly regarded, but not essential: component rebuild or overhaul experience, Caterpillar or other original equipment manufacturer experience, and dogging or forklift tickets.
