What you will be learning:

  • Inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining heavy mobile plant equipment
  • Working with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Using workshop tools and lifting equipment safely
  • Reading technical drawings and service manuals
  • Identifying and rectifying faults efficiently
  • Developing strong safety awareness and work standards

About You:

  • Minimum 17 years of age or over by January, 2027
  • Be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident
  • Great communication, reading and writing skills
  • A genuine interest in mechanical trades or heavy equipment
  • Driver's licence and reliable transport OR close to obtaining a driver's licence with the ability to get to and from work each day, and to our Guildford Head Office for training
  • Honest, reliable and a team player

  • AUR31220 – Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (Plant Mechanic) - WesTrac Institute (RTO 50737)
  • AUR30320 – Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (Auto Electrician) - WesTrac Institute (RTO 50737)
  • MEM31925 – Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Fabrication/Welding) - External RTO
  • MEM30219 – Certificate III Engineering - Mechanical Trade (1st Class Machinist) - External RTO
  • AUR32420 – Certificate III - Automotive Refinishing Technology (Industrial Spray Painter) - External RTO
