Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, as a Senior Legal Counsel you will partner with internal and external stakeholders to provide legal advice on a diverse range of issues across WesTrac’s business. You will be able to hone your commercial acumen and negotiation skills during strategic contract negotiations critical to WesTrac’s revenue growth and long-term strategy. With the support of WesTrac’s General Counsel, you will have everything you need to excel in the role and develop your career.
Location: Tomago, NSW or South Guildford, WA
What You'll Do:
- Oversee the negotiation, execution and management of high value, strategic customer sales contracts critical to continued growth.
- Advise on a broad range of matters including disputes and regulatory compliance.
- Provide practical solutions to a diverse range of problems impacting the business.
- Provide thought leadership on legal, risk and compliance matters including the development and provision of training to key stakeholders.
- Ensure WesTrac’s compliance with legislative requirements by monitoring legislative changes and implementing appropriate compliance programmes and frameworks.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience as a qualified legal professional specialising in commercial, corporate, commercial litigation, construction or mining law.
- In-house legal experience desirable, but not essential.
- Bachelor of Laws.
- Admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner with a current practicing certificate.
- Demonstrated negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Robust commercial acumen and sound judgement.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills in the provision of legal advice.
