Location: FIFO from Perth

Roster: Flexible shutdown and breakdown rosters, typically 8-10 day swings

Join a New Specialist Drill Team at WesTrac. WesTrac is building a new Drill Shutdown & Breakdown Team and we're looking for experienced Drill Technicians to join us. As a founding team member, you'll work on Caterpillar Drill Rigs across WA mine sites, supporting shutdowns, breakdowns and technical troubleshooting. You'll join a close-knit team of experienced technicians who work well together, support each other and are committed to delivering great outcomes for our customers. This is an opportunity to be part of something new while working on industry-leading equipment.

What You'll Do

  • Fault finding, diagnostics and maintenance on Caterpillar MD6200 through to MD6380 Drill Rigs
  • Work closely with customers, WesTrac and Caterpillar to deliver technical support and practical solutions
  • Assist with preventative maintenance planning, shutdown scopes and troubleshooting activities
  • Complete technical reporting and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
  • Perform breakdown repairs, commissioning support and equipment optimisation activities to improve machine performance and reliability
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment availability and customer outcomes

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology
  • Post-trade experience working on mining equipment
  • Current Driver's Licence

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working on surface mining Drill Rigs
  • Experience on Caterpillar MD6200 to MD6380 Drill Rigs
  • Field Service experience within the mining industry
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
  • Previous shutdown, breakdown or maintenance experience
  • Exposure to low-voltage electrical systems
  • Mentoring, training or technical leadership experience
