This well‑established and growing Bury St Edmunds based accountancy practice is currently recruiting a Senior Accountant to join its thriving team.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • This role incorporates a mix of preparing and reviewing accounts and tax work across a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Preparing and completing year end statutory accounts.
  • Completion / review of personal and corporate tax computations (SA100 & CT600).
  • Client Management accounting support.
  • Review and submission of VAT returns.
  • Client bookkeeping and review of bookkeeping responsibilities.
  • Liaising directly with clients and handling queries professionally - building relationships for the future.

What We're Looking For

  • Ideally you will be fully ACCA/ACA qualified or latter stage studier, however, for the right level of experience within practice QBE applications will be considered.
  • 4+ years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
  • Experience managing and liaising with multiple clients across sectors.
  • Supervisory / Team Leader experience beneficial for review and oversight of Juniors.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills - a natural diligence and organised approach.
  • Confidence working with varied workloads and requirements - deadline orientated and calm under pressure.
  • Technical awareness and a natural keenness to build on technical understanding.
  • Previous experience with accounting systems, especially systems such as: Xero, Quickbooks, and FreeAgent.
