An established and growing regional firm based in Bury St Edmunds is looking to appoint a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant to strengthen its successful team. This branch office has seen some great success in recent years and are keen to continue their development.

The Role

The role would suit someone with solid technical skills, who enjoys working across a varied and interesting client portfolio and considers themselves a 'hands on' Accountant. With an established Bury base, this firm provides a secure and supportive environment where you can further develop your expertise working across general practice duties from top to bottom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and completing year end statutory accounts
  • Completion / review of personal and corporate tax computations (SA100 & CT600)
  • Client Management accounting support
  • Review and submission of VAT returns
  • Hands on involvement with client bookkeeping as well as review of junior bookkeeping
  • Liaising directly with clients and handling queries professionally - building relationships for the future
  • Reviewing and mentoring junior staff

What We're Looking For

  • AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified or studying
  • 3+ years' experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Supervisory / Team Leader experience beneficial for review and oversight of Juniors but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills - a natural diligence and organised approach
  • Previous experience with accounting systems
