About the Role

In this position, you'll work closely with directors and senior managers, delivering a portfolio of audit and/or accounts assignments for clients across a wide range of industries. You'll be involved from planning through to completion, taking ownership of your work and building strong client relationships. You may also play a part in reviewing work and coaching junior team members, helping to maintain excellent service standards within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working on a diverse portfolio of audit and non audit clients across a range of industry sectors from SME to larger corporate organisations
  • Prepare audit and accounts files for senior review
  • Preparing statutory accounts (UK GAAP / FRS 102-1A)
  • Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning to completion
  • Act as a day‑to‑day contact for clients
  • Corporation tax preparation
  • Support and mentor junior team members where required
  • Develop risk‑based audit plans and relevant testing strategies
  • Monitor job budgets and ensure deadlines are met
  • Working collaboratively to ensure excellent client service levels

What We're Looking For

  • ACA / ACCA qualified or currently studying towards and AAT qualified
  • Recent experience in a UK accountancy practice (minimum 2 years in practice)
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102 Section 1A
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
  • A naturally diligent approach with a good attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation skills and confidence working across both accounts and audit functions
