An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit professional to join a fantastic independent multi-site firm of Chartered Accountants. The practice has built a strong reputation over many years, working with a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries and growing!

As the firm continues to develop their audit function, they are looking to appoint an Audit Semi-Senior (applications also considered from Seniors and Assistant Managers) who can play an important role within the team while continuing to develop their career.

The Role

Working closely with the directors and senior leadership team, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients with a range of turnovers. The position offers exposure to clients from multiple sectors and the opportunity to take ownership of engagements from planning through to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a team that is directly involved with business development.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing audit assignments from the planning stage through to completion
  • Acting as a key contact for clients and liaising regularly with senior leadership building long term relationships across your portfolio
  • Supporting, reviewing, and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
  • Developing risk-focused audit strategies and designing appropriate testing procedures
  • Preparing and reviewing audit files and reports
  • Monitoring job budgets and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Preparing files for final review by directors
  • Ensuring efficiency of the audit cycle - working as part of or leading the on-site audit team
About You
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or currently studying towards qualification, ideally from a small-mid sized firm (Big4 not applicable)
  • Recent experience working in UK practice with specific exposure to audit assignments
  • Confident working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to guide or supervise junior staff depending on level
