An established and reputable independent accountancy practice based on the outskirts of Chelmsford is looking to recruit an Accounts Semi-Senior to support the firm’s continued growth.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a varied and interesting portfolio of both SME and larger corporate businesses.

The Role
Working as part of a supportive team, you will take responsibility for assisting with, and in some cases managing, a portfolio of clients, delivering a broad range of compliance and accounting services.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A)
- Drafting corporation tax computations and CT600s for review and submission
- Supporting with monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Supporting bookkeeping requirements using cloud-based accounting software such as XERO, Quickbooks and Sage
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and support their ongoing business needs
- Building trusted, professional relationships and acting as a key point of contact
About You
- Ideally you will have 3+ years’ experience working within a UK accountancy practice as either a Semi-Senior or Trainee Accountant
- Be AAT Level 4 qualified, or part-qualified (ACCA/ACA)
- Have experience working with a varied SME client portfolio
- Be confident communicating directly with clients
- Be well organised, detail-oriented, and keen to progress your career within practice
