A respected and long-standing independent accountancy firm in Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit an Accounts or mixed Accounts & Audit, Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant to join their team.

The Role

A highly regarded accountancy practice in Cambridgeshire, known for its strong local presence and continued success, is looking to recruit an experienced Semi Senior or Senior Accountant to support its ongoing expansion. This position would suit a technically capable individual who enjoys working with a diverse range of clients and values building strong, long-term relationships. With a growing client base and a solid reputation across the region, the firm offers a stable and encouraging environment where your skills can continue to evolve. Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial statements across a diverse client base including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • Completion and review of both personal and corporate tax returns (SA100 and CT600) as well as review and submission of VAT returns
  • Assisting clients with management accounts and financial reporting
  • Undertaking bookkeeping tasks and reviewing junior work where appropriate
  • Supporting audit assignments, including planning, fieldwork, and completion stages
  • Assisting with audit file preparation and liaising with clients to gather required information
  • Acting as a main point of contact for clients, responding to queries and maintaining strong professional relationships

Who are we looking for:

  • ACA/ACCA part-qualified or fully qualified
  • At least 3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Experience liaising directly with clients
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or CCH
  • Some exposure to audit work (preferred but not essential)
