This well‑established, highly respected mid‑Kent based accountancy practice is seeking to recruit a Mixed Tax Senior / Manager to support the continued growth of its tax function. The role will suit someone with strong all‑round tax experience who enjoys a blend of compliance and advisory work, along with the opportunity to support colleagues, mentor junior team members, and build long‑term client relationships.
The RoleWorking as part of a collaborative and technically strong tax team, you will take responsibility for delivering high‑quality tax services across a mixed portfolio of individual, owner‑managed business, and corporate clients. Responsibilities include:
- Providing tax advisory and compliance services across a range of taxes, including income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and estate planning.
- Preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax computations and returns in line with statutory deadlines.
- Supporting tax planning and advisory projects, helping clients improve their tax positions.
- Acting as a technical point of reference for colleagues across the firm, assisting with complex tax queries.
- Researching complex tax matters and delivering clear, practical, and commercially focused advice.
- Liaising directly with HMRC, handling enquiries, disclosures, and dispute resolution.
- Assisting with corporate restructures and group planning work where required.
- Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of UK tax legislation and ensuring client compliance.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior members of the tax team.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
CTA qualified, or able to demonstrate substantial high‑level practical experience across all areas of UK taxation managing a portfolio working for a highly reputable firm in a mixed tax capacity at a senior or manager level. Strong technical knowledge across both personal and corporate tax in a compliance, advisory and planning capacity. Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively. A proactive and solutions‑focused approach to work. Experience in developing, mentoring and reviewing staff would be highly desirable.
