An established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice based in Braintree is looking to recruit an Accounts SemiâSenior to support the firm's continued growth. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a varied and interesting portfolio of ownerâmanaged businesses, charities, and highânetâworth individuals, spanning a wide range of sectors including property, professional services, retail, construction, and technology.

The Role
Working as part of a collaborative accounts team, you will take responsibility for assisting with, and in some cases managing, a portfolio of clients, delivering a broad range of compliance and accounting services. Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of yearâend statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A)
- Drafting corporation tax computations and CT600s for review and submission
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns across multiple schemes
- Supporting bookkeeping requirements using cloudâbased accounting software such as XERO, Quickbooks and Sage
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and support their ongoing business needs
- Building trusted, professional relationships and acting as a key point of contact
About You
- Have 3+ years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice as either a SemiâSenior or Trainee Accountant
- Be AAT Level 4 qualified, or partâqualified (ACCA/ACA)
- Have experience working with a varied SME client portfolio
- Be confident communicating directly with clients
- Be well organised, detailâoriented, and keen to progress your career within practice
