An expanding regional firm of Chartered Accountants based in Chelmsford is looking to grow its team and in turn are keen to find an Accounts & Audit Semi‑Senior or Senior to join their team. This is an excellent chance for someone who enjoys a mix of audit and accounts work and is looking for genuine career progression within a supportive and close knit environment.
About the Role
In this position, you'll work closely with directors and senior managers, delivering a portfolio of audit and accounts assignments for clients across a wide range of industries. You'll be involved from planning through to completion, taking ownership of your work and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare audit and accounts files for senior review
- Preparing statutory accounts (UK GAAP / FRS 102)
- Support and/or lead and deliver audit assignments from planning to completion
- Have responsibility as the main point of contact for clients
- Support with the development of risk‑based audit plans and relevant testing strategies
- Carry out audit fieldwork efficiently and accurately
- Monitor job budgets and ensure deadlines are met
- Draft corporation tax computations
- Support and mentor junior team members where required
What We're Looking For
- ACA / ACCA qualified or currently studying
- Recent experience in a UK accountancy practice minimum 3 years in practice, including involvement in audit work
- Good working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102
- Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a close‑knit team
- Comfortable supporting or supervising junior staff
