This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to join a supportive and forward-thinking firm, working with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and corporate clients across a variety of sectors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit and accounts services, working closely with managers and partners while building strong client relationships and developing their technical expertise.

The Role

As an Audit & Accounts Senior / Semi-Senior, you will be responsible for managing audit assignments, preparing statutory accounts, and providing valuable financial insights to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, leading, and completing statutory audits for a varied client portfolio.
  • Preparing statutory accounts and financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Reviewing financial information and identifying areas of risk, improvement, and opportunities for clients.
  • Assisting with audit planning, fieldwork, and completion assignments.
  • Conducting audit testing and evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Analysing financial data and presenting findings clearly to clients and senior management.
  • Preparing management accounts and supporting clients with financial reporting requirements.
  • Liaising directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries, and provide professional guidance.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.
  • Working with accounting software including CCH, Xero, and other cloud-based systems.
  • Ensuring assignments are completed efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant accounting standards, legislation, and auditing requirements.

About You

  • ACA / ACCA part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience within a UK based accountancy practice in an audit and accounts role.
  • Strong experience of statutory audit work and financial statement preparation.
  • Good working knowledge of UK accounting and audit regulations.
  • Experience using accounting software such as CCH, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional, client-focused, and proactive approach.
  • Ambitious individual looking to further develop their career within a reputable practice.
