WestonBrook Associates are delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded and growing accountancy practice to recruit an ambitious Accounts & Audit Semi-Senior/ Trainee for their Central London office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified ACA or ACCA student to join a supportive and progressive firm that offers genuine long-term career development, exposure to a broad client portfolio, and a varied workload spanning audit, accounts and tax.

Based in modern and well-equipped offices close to Vauxhall Station, the successful candidate will join a collaborative team environment and benefit from structured training, excellent study support and significant exposure to owner-managed businesses, SMEs and entrepreneurial clients.
The Role
This is a broad and varied position combining accounts, tax and audit responsibilities, offering excellent exposure across all areas of general practice.
Working closely with Managers and Partners, you will assist in the delivery of high-quality client services whilst continuing your professional studies and developing your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the planning, execution and completion of statutory audit assignments.
  • Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Supporting the preparation of corporation tax and personal tax compliance work.
  • Undertaking bookkeeping and management accounts assignments.
  • Working directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and build strong professional relationships.
  • Assisting with audit fieldwork both remotely and at client premises.
  • Reviewing financial data and identifying areas for improvement and added value.
  • Supporting and collaborating with junior team members where appropriate.
  • Working with cloud-based accounting systems including Xero, Sage and other practice software.
  • Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

About You

  • Be studying towards ACA or ACCA through a Level 7 Apprenticeship programme.
  • Have successfully completed all Certificate and some of the professional Level
  • examinations at the first attempt.
  • Possess recent experience within a UK accountancy practice environment.
  • Have exposure to audit assignments alongside accounts preparation and tax compliance work.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills and a solid understanding of compliance
  • requirements.
  • Be comfortable using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Take ownership of your workload and demonstrate a proactive, commercial approach.
  • Be keen to build a long-term career within a progressive and people-focused firm.
