WestonBrook Associates is proud to partner with a highly respected, multi‑office accountancy firm to recruit an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager for their South London office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and client‑focused practice known for delivering trusted financial and business advice to a broad client base, including high‑net‑worth individuals, directors, landlords, and owner‑managed businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse portfolio of limited company, sole trader and partnership clients.
- Review and oversee statutory accounts for small and micro‑entities ensuring compliance with FRS 102‑1a and FRS 105.
- Review corporation tax and business tax computations.
- Handle company secretarial matters and escalate complex issues where needed.
- Manage a portfolio of self‑assessment tax returns (income, dividends, rental income, partnerships, CGT).
- Ensure timely and accurate HMRC submissions.
- Oversee P11D reporting and benefits‑in‑kind.
- Provide practical tax planning advice across CGT, inheritance tax basics, remuneration planning, residency, and property taxation.
- Liaise with HMRC as required.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, building strong, lasting relationships and deliver clear, proactive, commercial advice.
- Manage deadlines across accounts and tax work, particularly during busy periods.
- Monitor WIP, budgets, and billing.
- Liaise with third parties including HMRC and financial professionals.
About You
- Ideally ACA / ACCA qualified (those qualified by experience will also be considered) with at least 5+ years' experience working for a reputable UK based practice in a similarly blended accounts and tax manager level position.
- Solid working knowledge of UK GAAP, self‑assessment, CGT, and director‑level tax matters.
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail with strong professional judgement and integrity.
