Westonbirt Sports Centre is looking for a recreation assistant/lifeguard to support the safe, effective, and welcoming operation of the School's Sports Centre, including lifeguard duties for the swimming pool, in line with local and national legislation and best practice guidance.
- Provide lifeguard supervision of the swimming pool, ensuring the safety of all users at all times.
- Work in accordance with the Normal Operating Procedures (NOP), Emergency Action Plan (EAP), and Specific Incident Management procedures.
- Maintain a strong awareness of and compliance with best practice and legal requirements for sports centres and swimming pools.
- Conduct and record daily and weekly health and safety checks as required.
- Carry out pool water testing in line with NOP guidelines and report any irregularities.
- Work within established risk assessments, reporting hazards or concerns promptly through appropriate channels.
- Ensure the safe operation of the pool environment, following guidance such as Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools and PWTAG standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across all areas of the Sports Centre.
- Undertake routine cleaning duties, including:
- Poolside areas, floors, and walls.
- Changing rooms and toilets.
- Sinks, mirrors, drains, and doors.
- Replenishment of consumables (paper towels, soap, shoe covers, etc.).
- Provide a high standard of customer service to pupils, members, and visitors.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with all users of the facility.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all users.
