Help us care for some of Weston-super-Mare's most valued public spaces. Weston-super-Mare Town Council is recruiting motivated and reliable individuals to join our newly established Cleaning and Housekeeping Team. We are currently seeking applications for:
- 1 x Housekeeping Supervisor
- 2 x Housekeeper Operatives
These are important frontline roles helping to maintain public buildings and community spaces to the highest possible standards for residents, visitors and staff.
About the Roles
You will work across a range of Council sites, including Weston Museum, Old Town Quarry and the Council Offices at 32 Waterloo Street. These are varied and rewarding positions where no two days are the same. Successful applicants will help ensure Council buildings remain clean, safe, welcoming and well maintained for the community.
Typical duties may include:
- Cleaning public areas, offices and facilities
- Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, waste removal and recycling
- Maintaining toilets and welfare areas
- Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies
- Supporting health, safety and hygiene standards
- Opening and securing buildings (Supervisor role)
- Supporting stock control and COSHH records (Supervisor role)
- Supervising and supporting team members (Supervisor role)
- Working across multiple Council locations
We're Looking For People Who:
- Experience in Cleaning or housekeeping
- Hospitality or customer service
- Facilities management
- Care or support services
- Operational or maintenance roles
We also welcome applicants with transferable skills who:
- Take pride in maintaining high standards and have excellent attention to detail
- Are reliable, organised and proactive
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Communicate professionally with colleagues and the public and are comfortable working across varied locations
Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of COSHH procedures would be beneficial for the Supervisor role.
