Event volunteers are a vital ingredient to the success of our events. Helping us with our fundraising events is a flexible way to volunteer, ideal if your time is limited and you are not able to make a regular commitment. It is a really fun, sociable way to help make a difference while supporting our vital fundraising efforts.
We have a wide range of events to get involved in, from helping at Strictly Fun Dancing, Men’s March, Mendip Challenge, Moonlight Beach Walk and many more! You can choose from lots of different roles including marshalling, merchandise sales, bucket collections, baking cakes, stewarding and even face painting.
By applying to be an Event volunteer you will be periodically contacted by the fundraising team when they require help at the variety of fantastic events they organize. There is no obligation to help at every event but it would be great to see you…many hands make light work!

Where you will be based: Community
Why we want you: To support our events team with a range of different duties and tasks to ensure our participants have a fun, safe experience whilst raising vital funds for the hospice.
What you will be doing:
- Following instructions given by the Designated Event Manager
- Making sure participants have an enjoyable and safe experience
- Roles vary depending on the event - could be registering/deregistering participants, setting up and transporting equipment such as tables and marquees, marshalling along the route, manning a merchandise stand, face painting, bucket collections, baking cakes for sale or running a tombola - this list is not exhaustive!
- Maintaining contact and providing important feedback to the event leads and/or the Designated Event Manager at the location
