As a Day Hospice volunteer you will help us to create a safe and welcoming environment to ensure that every patient who attends has a positive and rewarding day. You will support with a range of tasks including serving refreshments and lunches, engaging in activities, keeping areas clean and tidy and acting as another set of eyes and ears in addition to staff to check in with patients.

Why we want you
To assist the Day Hospice Team in providing a comfortable, welcoming, therapeutic environment so that patients have an enjoyable and safe day.
What you will be doing
- Acting as host in greeting patients, serving refreshments & helping with serving lunches.
- Assisting patients with any activities requested or authorised by the staff and within your own capabilities and competencies. Where necessary, training will be provided.
- Reporting any accidents, incidents or complaints immediately to Day Services Manager
- Supporting the staff in providing a high standard of holistic care for those whose disease is unresponsive to curative treatment.
- Informing the staff of all aspects relating to patient needs or concerns.
- Ensuring that time spent in Day Hospice is shared equally between patients.
